ADPR Global work stationDebra Wilson came to work in Mexico 20 years ago when she opened Las Rocas Hotel & Suites. Taking advantage of it's proximity to San Diego and capitalizing on the wedding market, she successfully maneuvered the business into a major Baja California wedding venue.  Wilson moved to New Port Beach Hotel shortly after the hotel went under new management and spent the next 12 years overseeing international advertising, marketing, public relations, promotions and sales programs for the 147-room family oriented hotel.  Her many responsibilities included organizing group visits including weddings, bus tours, church retreats and international dog shows along with website maintenance and eMarketing.  Her savvy and relaxed business style has allowed her to be one of the few female U.S. citizens carving a niche in the Baja business world.

Born in Florida to a homemaker and a sales manager, Debra’s childhood years were full of travel and cultural changes as she moved from Florida, to Washington, and on to Oregon, Central California, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Connecticut, Iowa and Southern California, to finally settle in Baja California.  Wilson attributes this advantage in her early years and her outgoing personality, as giving her the flexibility required for a business woman to successfully maneuver her way through the Mexican tourism industry.

Debra is careful to be frank, while paying close attention to what is achievable, "I never lie to a customer, or make promises I'm not absolutely certain I can deliver on, just to make the sale."  Her philosophy in business is one of customer satisfaction.  “As long as the client leaves feeling they have received excellent service and a good value for their dollar or peso, my job has been executed,” states Wilson.

Recently married to Michael, Wilson now serves as step-mom to six mostly grown children. While awaiting the upcoming nuptials of their eldest daughter, who lives in New York, they share their Mexican beach house with an assortment of adopted dogs and cats.

Global businessSusan Calderone is developing the touch points to help grow our client base. With extensive experience working with both small, and large corporations, for profit and non profits, creating winning business strategies for success, Susan has key advice to offer our clients.

Calderone is originally from the east coast where she studied journalism and public affairs. She started her career, which spans more than 20 years, in the heartbeat of the media world, with a stint at a major photography studio in Manhattan, New York. "The culture shock didn’t scare me; so I walked to the beat of my own dream, and drove to the coastline of California to study broadcasting and screenwriting." says Calderone.

It was during her ten years serving in public affairs and marketing for the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce where she developed the organization's communications, special events, publications, videos, newsletters, press conferences, and more. She is a graduate from Institutes for Organizational Management, a six year, continued study for chamber executives.

Her greatest accomplishment at the chamber was spearheading the Chamber’s public support campaign that led to bringing Legoland’s first U.S Site in California. She is known for her fundraising and relationship building ability which landed her a job working for the Boys and Girls Club of America in Carlsbad, Ca. While there she raised record totals for golf and dinner dance fundraisers, and created the club’s first newsletter entitled “A Kid’s Life,” which won national attention from organizational leaders.

Whether serving clients, boards, members, commissions, or the public, Susan is creative and excited to share her expertise.

Calderone currently lives in Rancho Penasquitos with her son Miles who has rounded the corner to 7 years old.  She is active in North County and has developed extensive business contacts along the I-15 corridor. Previously she also served as director of business development for the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce.

She is an aspiring screen writer, and has studied at UCLA hoping to some day draw on her memories of being raised in a big Italian family, where the truth really was stranger and funnier than fiction. On her bucket list she hopes to learn to surf with her son, and continue traveling whenever possible.
